If something is broken, telling us these three things gets it fixed much faster: what you were doing, what you expected, and what actually happened. A screenshot helps.
Food recognition is done by an AI model from a photograph, so it is an estimate rather than a measurement. That is why the app shows ranges and confidence levels instead of a single confident number.
You can usually improve a scan by taking the photo in better light, getting closer, and laying items out so they are not overlapping. If the app marks an item as low confidence, tap to confirm or remove it — that feeds into the result.
For packaged food, scanning the barcode is far more accurate than photographing it, because the nutrition comes from a product database rather than an estimate.
No. Please read the actual product label. Crisper AI cannot reliably determine whether a food is safe for someone with an allergy or intolerance, and it can miss ingredients entirely. Never use a scan result or a generated recipe to make an allergy decision.
Check that you are signed in — AI features require an account. Then check your internet connection. If you have been scanning a lot in a short time, you may have hit a rate limit; wait a minute and try again. If it persists, email us with the approximate time it happened so we can find it in our logs.
The app applies deliberate floors. Adults will not be given a target below 1,200 calories a day (female) or 1,500 (other), and anyone under 18 is never given a calorie deficit at all — if you are under 18 and choose a fat-loss goal, your target is raised to your estimated maintenance level instead.
These limits are intentional and cannot be turned off. If you need targets outside them, that is a conversation for a doctor or dietitian, not an app.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, so they are managed in your Apple account: Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or via apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
We cannot cancel or refund a subscription on your behalf. Refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not delete your data.
Open the app, go to Profile and use Restore Purchases. That re-checks your entitlement with Apple. If it still does not unlock, email us and include the Apple ID email you purchased with — not your password, which we never need and will never ask for.
In the app: Profile → Delete Account. This is immediate and permanent — your profile, meals, favourites, scan history, custom meals and your weight, water and activity logs are all removed. It cannot be undone.
You can also email us and we will do it for you. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel that separately, as above.
No. A photo you scan is sent for analysis and then discarded — we have no photo storage. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what we do and do not keep.
Most of it is visible in the app already. If you want a full copy, email us and we will send it within 30 days at no charge.
